Alveena Shrestha

Alveena Shrestha is a fourth-year Software Engineering student. Throughout her time at Ontario Tech, Alveena has been actively involved in student leadership and community initiatives. She currently serves as Vice-President of Internal Affairs for the Ontario Tech Engineering Student Society and previously held the role of Mental Health Director for the student society. In addition, she has served as Co-President of the Engineers Without Borders Ontario Tech Chapter, where she helped revive the chapter and led sustainability-focused projects.
Professionally, Alveena has gained valuable industry experience through her co-op role as a Junior Systems Developer and Junior Infrastructure Analyst at the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation. In these roles, she contributed to projects involving artificial intelligence, workflow optimization and the development of automation tools.
Alveena is also passionate about community engagement. She volunteers with local libraries to teach children how to read and code, which has strengthened her communication and mentorship skills. She also actively supports younger students in science, technology, engineering and math through tutoring and mentorship, helping them build skills and confidence to thrive as the next generation of innovators.
