Serge Gattesco, FCPA, FCA

SergeSerge Gattesco is a retired Partner of PwC Canada, where he served for more than 10 years in national executive leadership roles, including Canadian Managing Partner of the Audit and Assurance Group and Canadian Managing Partner of Strategy and Operations.

As Managing Partner of Strategy and Operations, Serge had executive oversight for strategy, finance, technology, human capital, business transformation, innovation, marketing and operations. Previously, as Managing Partner of Audit and Assurance, he was responsible for the strategy, quality, risk management, people and financial performance of PwC Canada's Audit and Assurance practice. He also served on PwC's Global Assurance Leadership team.

Serge has extensive corporate and not-for-profit governance experience. He currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Humber River Health and as a director and Chair of the Audit Committee of McEwen Copper and Willeson Metals. His previous governance experience includes the Toronto Region Board of Trade, Camp Oochigeas, the Canadian Cancer Society and the Canadian Diabetes Association.

Serge also has significant experience in the health-care sector, including executive secondments earlier in his career as Vice-President of Operations and CFO of Markham Stouffville Hospital, CFO of Cancer Care Ontario and CFO of Brampton Memorial Hospital during its merger to form William Osler Health Centre.

Serge holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto and is a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario. He has also taught Audit Committee Effectiveness at the Institute of Corporate Directors.
